Age Concern Crosby’s operations are, in common with many other agencies, currently suspended due to COVID-19 precautions. Our telephone helpline remains in operation for information and advice. Our lunch-clubs, outings and cinema events remain closed at present

Loneliness can cause dementia, heart disease and depression and can increase the risk of death by 29%. 40% of older people say TV is their main company. Over half of people aged 75+ live alone. 2m people aged 50+ will experience loneliness by 2025.

Our volunteers are crucial to the service we provide for our clients, without them we would not be here! Volunteering opportunities are available for people who enjoy working as part of a team and meeting new people.

There are a number of different volunteering roles and if you are interested in helping us support older members of our community and in developing new skills, please get in touch.

Help from you in the community helps us to raise awareness of the work we do. Donations help us to provide our services. Raising funds is what keeps us going. Events and entertainment are the lifeblood of our work.

We’re always looking for extra help, assistance and support for the organisation in any capacity such as donations, fundraising, event organising, or providing entertainment. Without help we can’t provide the range of services for our older people in the community. Whether it’s a financial donation, a donation of your time, working with us in a partnership role, or if you have any ideas or your own we would love to hear from you!
